Home Staging Fairfield County. After over 20 years in this Fairfield County home, the client is relocating to Florida and needs the home staged. We prepared the house for sale by decluttering, deep cleaning, appliance/fixture updating and painting. This home staging project was daunting but with the help of Pinkys Cleaning Service and Robinsons Painting & Home Improvement, along with a landscaper we were able to complete the tasks in 2 months. We completely filled-up 2 dumpsters and donated so much more.
I started with the front landscaping and redesigned the front gardens so you could actually see the front door. The walkway was also reset and all the trim painted white to add contrast to the blue. We repaired any rotted wood that the woodpeckers destroyed. Inside we cleared out each room, closet and cabinet as well as performing a deep cleaning.
The hardwood floors were refinished, wallpaper removed and walls/ceilings painted. By replacing the cabinet hardware, faucets and lighting in the bathrooms/kitchen, I was able to modernize the home. Using the clients own furnishings and bedding, I staged the rooms to create a welcoming and open feel. We attempted to depersonalize the space while retaining the warmth and comfort of home.
My goal is to always to create with warmth, scale, harmony, and cohesion. This helps bring about an emotional appeal so the buyer can imagine or aspire to how life could be in the house for their family. When a house feels like home, buyers can more easily grasp the concept of moving in with their family. This home staging project was a prime example of what some minor updates, landscaping and a deep cleaning can do to increase the home’s value to potential buyers.
