Interior Design in Darien, CT
This interior design project started as a vacant staging consult and turned into a interior design opportunity. I just couldn’t help myself from providing interior design feedback on the renovation plans. The builder asked me to meet at the house and review my interior design ideas..
Some images of the home before I began the interior design project:
I suggested opening both walls of the center hall stairwell and relocating the foyer closet opening. I also suggested opening the wall from the kitchen to the dining room. The original plan had a peninsula and desk area in the kitchen and I changed this to a bar area with sink/fridge and island. I also added a shallow pantry to increase storage space.
There was a back staircase that accessed a large bonus room over the garage that originally was going to be described as nanny suite. I suggested connecting it to the upstairs and turn into a stunning master suite with spa like bathroom and walkin closet. All of these upgrades turned a 800,000-900,000 home into a 1.6 million dollar home.
After much hard work and here are the after photos:
The home staging was easy in this open concept home. The Restoration Hardware dining table and parsons chair can be seen from the kitchen that boosts and island with 4 stools. Using neutral sofas with accents of blue, gray and orange, the living room wows potential buyers. The master suite is staged to induce a spa like feeling upon entering the room. Bath salts and fluffy towels accompany the free standing soaking tub. It was an amazing process to see all the hard work and effort truly paid off on this beautiful project.
